Friday, during a big show before the Super Bowl, Scott and BR on AM radio’s Mighty1090 held a wing contest/tasting that included the San Diego Chargers’ Antonio Garay! We brought our original wings and our Jerk-style wings and the judges were impressed! We do take care with our wings, making them some of the best chicken wings you can find in San Diego. We take steps with the wings that many others don’t, including our delicious sauces that are all made in house. Our Jerk sauce that the judges love so much, for instance – we make that just how somebody might in Jamaica! We’re not using a “Jerk Spice” packet – we use real ingredients with REAL heat! Those ones are sneaky.
We’re happy to have participated in this contest, that ironically started out as a story about a potential “Wing Shortage” that could be coming our way. Wings have grown in popularity in the last few years and prices have gone up exponentially. We offered a 45 cent wing night as long as we could, and in the middle of last year, we had to adjust up to 75 cents. As wing prices increase, we are doing all we can to keep prices of wings flat, but you have our word – we aren’t going to cut corners and offer a sub-par chicken wing. As Scott Kaplan kept saying on the air, our wings fall right off the bone and offer just the right balance of tender meat and crispy exterior.
Wednesday nights are wing night, where we offer several homemade sauces:
- Spicy Soy
- Honey Barbecue
The wings are huge, and we think that, even at full price, they can not only be a meal, but the quality is unparalleled. If you haven’t already, come see how great chicken wings can be!
